On Friday 20 November, Momoko Gill comes to BIRD Rotterdam. The London-based drummer, producer, composer and vocalist moves between jazz, electronics, spoken word, improvisation and soul, with a live set that keeps changing shape.

Gill comes from South London’s progressive music scene and has worked with artists including Matthew Herbert, Tirzah, Coby Sey and Alabaster DePlume. As Herbert & Momoko, she has previously played Dekmantel, Rewire, Sónar and Bimhuis.

At BIRD, the focus is on her own work. Rhythms shift, electronics and vocals move through each other and improvisation gets plenty of space.

If you listen to Tirzah, Yussef Dayes, Nala Sinephro, SAULT or Alabaster DePlume, this one is for you.
