Anniversary Marketing Coordinator: 15 Years of BIRD

16 hours per week through September 2026 | Starting July 1

This year, BIRD celebrates fifteen years. Fifteen years of music. Fifteen years of nightlife. Fifteen years of community helping shape Rotterdam's cultural landscape.

We're celebrating with One Love – Celebrating 15 Years of BIRD, an anniversary festival that brings together everything BIRD stands for: concerts, club nights, talent development, food, storytelling, and meaningful connections.

For this special project, we're looking for a creative and entrepreneurial Project Marketer who can make the anniversary visible throughout the city. Someone who understands that great marketing starts with a story people want to share.

About One Love: Celebrating 15 Years of BIRD

One Love is more than a festival. It's a tribute to fifteen years of BIRD and to everyone who has contributed to that journey: artists, visitors, partners, creators, staff, and communities.

Throughout the week, we'll present concerts, club nights, talent development programs, talks, a mini-festival, and a special food event. At the same time, we'll tell the story of BIRD: where we've come from, where we are today, and where we're headed next.

What will you do?

You will be responsible for the marketing and communications surrounding BIRD's anniversary year and the One Love anniversary week.

You'll develop campaigns that not only attract visitors but also communicate why BIRD exists and what it means to artists, creators, audiences, and the city of Rotterdam.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing the anniversary marketing campaign.
  • Creating a compelling storytelling strategy around 15 years of BIRD.
  • Producing and coordinating content for social media, newsletters, the website, and press communications.
  • Producing interviews with artists, partners, visitors, and creators.
  • Showcasing BIRD's impact on Rotterdam and the Dutch music and cultural landscape.
  • Coordinating external partners such as designers, videographers, and content creators.
  • Supporting PR activities and media relations.
  • Developing online and offline campaigns around the anniversary week.
  • Managing timelines and ensuring the smooth execution of all marketing activities.

Who are we looking for?

You're both a storyteller and a doer. You spot opportunities, take initiative, and know how to turn ideas into effective campaigns.

You:

  • Have at least two years of experience in marketing and/or communications.
  • Have an affinity with music, culture, food, and nightlife.
  • Understand how communities work and how stories bring people together.
  • Have strong content creation and campaign management skills.
  • Write sharp, creative, and persuasive copy.
  • Know how to reach different audiences through social media.
  • Work independently and maintain oversight in complex projects.
  • Are curious, proactive, and highly organized.
  • Have a strong connection to Rotterdam and its cultural ecosystems.

Bonus points if you have...

  • Experience within music, festivals, hospitality, or cultural organizations.
  • Knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, Meta Ads, Canva, Mailchimp, and WordPress.
  • Experience with video production and content creation.
  • A strong network within Rotterdam's creative sector.

What do we offer?

  • A unique opportunity to contribute to a historic milestone for BIRD.
  • A key role within one of Rotterdam's most exciting cultural projects of 2026.
  • Plenty of room for creativity and your own ideas.
  • The opportunity to work with artists, creators, programmers, chefs, partners, and communities.
  • An inspiring workplace where music, food, and culture come together.
  • A freelance or project-based assignment averaging 16 hours per week through September 2026.

You're probably our new colleague If...

You're just as excited by an impromptu jam session as by a packed dance floor. You know who Ezra Collective are, have a favorite pizza topping, occasionally stay a little too long after a club night, and believe that culture brings people closer together.

Sound familiar?

We'd love to hear from you.
