Dina Ögon return with their most expansive work to date. 18 October they will perform live at BIRD, Rotterdam. Known for their blend of soul, jazz, indie pop and Scandinavian folk, the Stockholm-based band has built a strong identity through intimate songwriting, rich arrangements and a sound that feels both timeless and personal.
With their fourth album Människobarn, Dina Ögon take a clear step forward. Where earlier releases often felt concise and fleeting, this new record unfolds as a full double album, asking for deeper attention. In a time where music is often released as standalone singles, the band deliberately chooses the album format as a complete listening experience.
Lyrically, the focus shifts inward. Frontwoman Anna Ahnlund moves closer to themes of relationships, life and loss, capturing emotions that move between euphoria and melancholy. The songs remain open to the world around us, but feel most powerful when they zoom in on personal moments and translate them into layered, emotional compositions.
Musically, Dina Ögon refine their signature sound. Where earlier work explored different directions, Människobarn feels more grounded and confident. Influences blend seamlessly into a sound that is fully their own, moving from warm, groove-driven passages to darker, more introspective moments. There is a clear sense of growth, both in composition and storytelling, with subtle humour woven into heavier themes.
Standout tracks such as “Dålig teve”, “Margaretas sång”, “Människobarn”, “Hack i häl” and “Du tappa dä” highlight the range of the album, though the full experience lies in listening from start to finish.
