The music of Kymara is a beautiful combination of the storytelling of Nina Simone, the rawness of Janis Joplin, and the soulfulness of D'Angelo. Kymara found her own unique voice in her mid-twenties, the moment she had enough life experience to incorporate big themes like identity, love, and personal development into her songs.

She writes many personal lyrics and does not shy away from topics like love, growth, and discrimination. Kymara takes you on a personal journey through her life, as she does in her latest singles No Matter What They Say and You Don't Know Me.

In recent years, Kymara has played at the Great Escape Festival and Eurosonic, and last year also at the North Sea Jazz Festival. She won the Drake YolanDa Award for young artists.
