Rariteitenkabinet pre release

On April 24 Rotterdam rapper Duvel presents his new album Rariteitenkabinet live for the first time at BIRD

Duvel has been moving along the edges of Dutch hip hop for years while always remaining at its core. Since the eighties he has been part of Rotterdam’s hip hop culture, starting out in breakdance and graffiti before evolving into a distinctive voice through rap. With DuvelDuvel he pushed Dutch language hip hop forward by naturally blending street language, humor and Surinamese influences into his lyrics. From Rotterdam he built a style that is raw, sharp and unmistakably his own

Rariteitenkabinet marks the next chapter. The album moves between experimental, gritty beats and carefully crafted productions, with flashes of unexpected ska like energy. Production comes from Mr Ballantyne and RayTheBarbarian

The album will be released on vinyl via Ruyzdael Publishing and officially presented on May 15 at the Groninger Museum

The night at BIRD is the pre release, the first moment this new work will be shared live with an audience
