Collier Plays Coltrane

Isaiah Collier: Collier Plays Coltrane

Talk & Concert | Saturday 21 November | BIRD Rotterdam

100 years of John Coltrane deserves a special tribute. On Saturday 21 November, saxophonist Isaiah Collier brings Collier Plays Coltrane to BIRD Rotterdam for a night of jazz, improvisation and musical exploration.

Hailed as “The Next Sax Giant” by DownBeat Magazine, Collier is one of the most compelling voices in contemporary jazz. His five-star album Cosmic Transitions, recorded at the legendary Rudy Van Gelder Studio, carries Coltrane’s musical and spiritual legacy into a new era.

Before taking the stage, Collier sits down with Andrew Makkinga, known for his interviews at North Sea Jazz Festival, to explore John Coltrane’s lasting influence on jazz, music and culture.

Expect a night where jazz history meets the next generation.
