BIRDsessions: SUPERWEEKEND

BIRDsessions is our musical playground for artists, musicians and curious ears. A place where you never quite know what’s going to happen, where new music takes shape, new bands come together, new friendships begin and new sounds are discovered.

Every week, we put the spotlight on a different act from Rotterdam’s jazz scene and beyond. Come listen, come play, meet new people or simply see where the music takes you.

This week: SUPERWEEKEND

After years of touring across Europe, SUPERWEEKEND are getting ready to release their first singles. With roots in Brittany, Charente and Vietnam, the trio makes music that doesn’t fit neatly into any one box.

Expect virtuosic playing, three-part vocal harmonies, driving drums and bass, and melodies that are as moving as they are surprising. Their live show moves between the emotional and the absurd, with visuals that take things a little further off the beaten track.

With SUPERWEEKEND, you never quite know what to expect. Plenty of music, unexpected turns and every reason to listen closely or just let loose.
