This edition of BIRDsessions is opened by Adepts of the Sun: a brand-new musical collective that takes you on a ritual, musical journey. Think of a unique mix of electronic soundscapes, deep rhythms, and meditative atmospheres, inspired by artists like Shabaka Hutchings, Thom Yorke, and Samora Pinderhughes.

With influences from ancient European rituals and modern improvisation, Adepts of the Sun creates an accessible and engaging live set. Their music invites introspection, connection, and the acceptance of feelings that are often suppressed in everyday life.

After the performance, the legendary BIRDsessions jam opens as always. Bring your instrument, come on stage and join in, or just watch, listen, and enjoy. Everyone is welcome!

About Piero Conte

Piero Conte is a guitarist, composer, and producer from Rome, now active in Rotterdam. He combines jazz, hip-hop, and electronic influences into a recognizable sound. Piero studied at Codarts and played at festivals like North Sea Jazz, Umbria Jazz, and Transition. He is active in projects like Antares Flare, Sinnerman, and Adepts of the Sun, and recently won the award for Best Composition at the Dutch Jazz Competition. His music has been released through labels like Wicked Wax and Ropeadope.
