Bassolino

Naples in your ears, the dance floor at your feet. Bassolino is coming to BIRD!

Last August, Bassolino had the Lowlands crowd moving. Now it’s Rotterdam’s turn. On Friday 28 May, Neapolitan pianist, producer and composer Dario Bassolino brings his band to BIRD for a night of sultry jazz, funky disco and cinematic sounds with an unmistakable Italian twist.

Think forgotten movie soundtracks, sizzling funk, vintage synths and Italo disco straight out of a late-night Neapolitan dream. Bassolino blends jazz, electronic music and the musical roots of his hometown into a sound that’s raw, romantic, groovy and gloriously unpredictable. It’s the soundtrack to a film that doesn’t exist yet but one you already know you’ll want to dance to.

His debut album, Città Futura (2024), painted a visionary portrait of an imaginary city filled with larger-than-life characters, sun-scorched streets and after-dark adventures. In April 2027, Bassolino returns with his second album, bringing together Neapolitan cinedelic soundtracks, jazz and Italo disco. Expect fresh sounds, deep grooves and that unmistakable Mediterranean energy that gets under your skin.

From Naples to Rotterdam, from the first note to the last dance move. Bassolino is bringing the sunshine to BIRD, long after midnight.

Ci vediamo at BIRD.
