YĪN YĪN Brings Psychedelic Thai Funk & Electronic Trip to Maassilo

The Maastricht quartet YĪN YĪN is coming to Rotterdam for a night full of global grooves and cosmic disco. With their new album Yatta!, they push their unique blend of disco, funk, psychedelia, and Southeast Asian influences even further. After touring venues like Paradiso, Lowlands, North Sea Jazz, Fuji Rock, Clockenflap, and an American run, they’re now bringing their danceable universe to Maassilo.

From their very first jam session in a ballet school, Kees Berkers, Remy Scheren, Erik Bandt, and Jerôme Scheren have grown into a band that turns obscure global sounds into pure energy. Releases such as The Rabbit That Hunts Tigers, The Age of Aquarius, and Mount Matsu already showcased how they fuse vintage vibes and futuristic tones into something fresh and timeless.

On Yatta!, you’ll hear influences from Italo disco, Thai funk, and Japanese soul soundtracks, with trippy guitar lines and irresistible bass grooves. The record mixes dancefloor bangers with laid-back soundscapes, inviting you to either dance or drift away. It’s an open invitation to journey through their world of rhythm and imagination.
