Yann Tiersen returns to BIRD Rotterdam on 21 February with a special electronic set combining piano and electronics, in collaboration with Ambitus. The French composer and producer is known for his work at the intersection of neo classical and electronic music, and for choosing intimate venues and strong local collaborations.

This live set follows the release of the album Rathlin from a Distance | The Liquid Hour. The record unfolds in two connected parts. Rathlin from a Distance features restrained piano compositions written during travel and time spent at sea. The pieces feel personal and meditative, leaving space for silence and reflection.

The Liquid Hour moves toward electronic sound, with layered synths and rhythmic tension. The music carries a sense of urgency and shared energy, shaped by themes such as climate, identity, and community.

Ambitus is a platform focused on neo classical and instrumental music, composed and performed by the artist.
