Son Little returns to Rotterdam! This time, he’s taking over Annabel with the most open, raw, and freely breathing music of his career. His latest album Like Neptune was born in a remote cabin above the Delaware River, a place where old wounds resurfaced and new freedom took shape.

The existential undertone of his earlier work makes room for something new: joy, self-acceptance, and unfiltered creative drive.

Musically, he goes back to his roots: the East Coast underground soul and hip-hop where he cut his teeth alongside artists like The Roots and RJD2. At the same time, he dives into psychedelic cumbia, ’70s Bowie, DIY iPad beats, and the warm grain of a cassette 4-track. That mix is quintessential Son Little: a bridge between tradition and experimentation, between blues and pop, between vulnerability and swagger.

The tracks on Like Neptune form an atlas of inner geography. From the winding, timeless drummer groove to the late-night confessional vibe of 6 AM, and from the Prince-like sensuality of inside out to the playful title track, an ode to the wild side of his imagination. The album closes with what’s good, a song buzzing with life, desire, and release.

In Annabel, all of this comes together in a live show that never just “sounds pretty,” but always moves. His iconic rasp guides you through soul, R&B, blues, and something only Son Little can make exist. Rotterdam has embraced him before; now he returns more open, free, and creative than ever.
