Prepare for blues-on-blues-on-blues: Son Little is coming to BIRD! On Friday, february 5th, the singer brings his mix of blues, soul, gospel and rock ’n’ roll, as well as his new record, Aloha, to Rotterdam. Expect an evening of vintage flows, healing rhythms and a whole lot of soul searching.

Son Little can look back at an impressive career. He has worked with The Roots and RJD2, and he toured the world with artists like Leon Bridges, Kelis and Mumford & Sons. He won a Grammy producing skills on Marvin Staples’ See That My Grave Is Kept Clean. In 2019, the multi-talented artist dropped his EP, Invisible. This EP marks the first time he worked with a producer, French studio wiz Renaud Letang. The result: an EP full of transcending tunes, covered with Little’s signature blues sound. And if that sounds like music to your ears, we have even more good news: his brand new album Aloha drops on January 31. Plenty of time to memorise all the lyrics (and this new single) before his gig at the BIRD on Februari 5th!

Cyrille Aimée

In the summer of 2016, singer Cyrille Aimée was one of the biggest surprises of North Sea Jazz Festival. In the spring of 2017, BIRD and LanterenVenster brought her to Rotterdam for a first club concert. Since then, Cyrille released two albums – Cyrille Aimée and Move On: A Sondheim Adventure. It was therefore high time to invite the rising star for another concert.
