Pan Amsterdam is not an artist you can box in. A musical enigma wrapped in mystery. Behind the name is trumpeter and visionary Leron Thomas, a jazz musician from Houston who has made his mark alongside icons like Iggy Pop and Metronomy. From New York, the spiritual home of hip hop, he creates a sound that constantly shifts shape, raw, playful, genre bending and always unpredictable.

Born out of frustration and named after a misunderstanding, Pan Amsterdam is a character who ignores the rules. As a child he was already on stage alongside an early formation of Destiny's Child, yes including Beyoncé, and later shared stages with heavyweights like Robert Glasper, Roy Hargrove and Charles Tolliver.
