Kassa Overall isn’t your typical jazz drummer. The Seattle-born, Grammy-nominated artist is a one-man force, drummer, producer, emcee and singer, who fuses jazz, hip-hop, spoken word and electronics into a sound that’s fiercely original and wide open.

Across six critically acclaimed albums and mixtapes, including Go Get Ice Cream and Listen to Jazz and I Think I’m Good, Kassa has cemented his rep as one of the boldest, most forward-thinking voices in jazz today. His latest record ANIMALS dives deep into themes of identity, race and mental health, featuring genre-bending collaborations with Danny Brown, Lil B, Nick Hakim, Vijay Iyer and more.

A graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Kassa has played with legends like Geri Allen, Jon Batiste, Terri Lyne Carrington, Steve Coleman and Gary Bartz. His beats and production work show up on projects by Theo Croker, Arto Lindsay and Danny Brown.
