Fieh (pronounced: ‘fee-ah’) is one to watch. The Norwegian band mixes the sounds of Erykah Badu and Ella Fitzgerald with tight grooves, dirty bass lines and silky vocals. They used this signature sound to conquer the hearts (and ears!) of festival goers throughout Europe (including North Sea Jazz Festival and Eurosonic) last summer. Late September the band drops their debut album Cold Water Burning Skin. Right on time to learn the lyrics by heart before their gig in BIRD at 21 November!

Fieh was originally a three-headed band with Sofie Tollefsbøl as front singer, Andreas Rukan playing bass and Ola Øverby on drums. Over the years the band grew into an ensemble of eight musicians, and they’re ready to conquer Europe. During their energetic live performances, they mix jazz with pop, soul and R & B. These grooves aren’t going unnoticed abroad: they’re getting a lot of good reviews, and even Sir Elton John and Glass Animals have given them props.

Sofie Tollefsbøl: vocals
Andreas Rukan: bass
Ola Øverby: drums
Jørgen Kasbo: guitar
Edvard Synnes: keys
Lyder Øvreås Røed: horns & trumpet
Solveig Wang: backing vocals & Moog
Thea Arnesdotter Lien: backing vocals

Cyrille Aimée

In the summer of 2016, singer Cyrille Aimée was one of the biggest surprises of North Sea Jazz Festival. In the spring of 2017, BIRD and LanterenVenster brought her to Rotterdam for a first club concert. Since then, Cyrille released two albums – Cyrille Aimée and Move On: A Sondheim Adventure. It was therefore high time to invite the rising star for another concert.
