Prepare yourself for a voyage into space! Seattle’s finest hip hop duo Shabazz Palaces is playing BIRD. With Shabazz Palaces, Ishmael Butler, aka Palaceer Lazaro, aka Butterfly (from former jazz-rap formation Digable Planets) and Tendai ‘Baba’ Maraire enter a universe full of space travels, black mirrors and illuminati. But don’t get scared now, because they want you to make your own connections and draw your own conclusions. Join in with their free-jazz vibe, created by samplers, sequencers and drum machines.

The duo is #woke, with lyrics resting on blackness and the black experience. Butler and Maraire also get inspired by Black Constellation, a collective of like-minded visual artists, fashion designers and musicians. The rocket to Quazarz is launched on 4 February.
