For the first time since his show at North Sea Jazz in 2011, Raphael Saadiq is coming to the Netherlands. The R & B and soul icon has guaranteed good old, soulful skills at high levels. On Tuesday 22 October 2019, the soul singer will perform at Theater Rotterdam, Schouwburg.

Saadiq can do it all. He was Prince’s bass player during the ‘Parade Tour,’ as lead singer he started rhythm & blues formation Tony! Toni! Tone! and scored big hits. At their peak, Saadiq left the trio to focus on his solo career. His solo debut, Instant Vintage (2002) was immediately nominated for five Grammies, even though he wasn’t signed to a major record label!

His latest record, Stone Rollin’, is from 2011; Saadiq was simply too busy producing. He produced music for greats like D’Angelo (his Grammy-winning EP Untitled), The Roots, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige and Erykah Badu. But the soul singer is now working on his own music again, because the born performer can’t wait to get back on stage again with his fifth record, set to be released before summer starts: “I love to perform so I want to finish my record so I can go be in front of people.”
