For years, PJ Morton spent most of his time in the background. He wrote and produced for artists like India.Arie, Monica and LL Cool J, and he worked closely with the greats of the world, including Solange and Erykah Badu. Besides, he’s been touring the world as keyboard player for Maroon 5 since 2010, and he worked on three of that band’s records.

It’s become more and more clear that PJ is an extremely talented musician and singer in his own right ever since the release of his album Gumbo. Since 2017, he’s been nominated for five Grammies, and earlier this year, he got to take one home.

As a solo artist, PJ doesn’t go near the poppy sound of Maroon 5. He draws inspiration from the heyday of soul and R & B, although he adds a modern twist.
