Mackampa was born in Congo, grew up in London and came of age in Coventry, an industrial city in the West Midlands in the UK. All of this is reflected in his work, which is best described as soulful folk that is slightly influenced by the swinging Afro-beat and rock’n’roll he listened to in his youth: Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers and Curtis Mayfield.

Jordan combines his timeless voice with catchy melodies, resulting in an exciting mix of alternative pop and uplifting soul. And if you ask him, Mackampa describes himself as : “A man who’s very honest with his emotions and his feelings, and it comes out through his music.”
